Terms of Service

StyleMatchMe (stylematchme.com and its related pages, the "Service") is owned and operated by The Barbery Republic LLC, doing business as StyleMatchMe, a limited liability company based in San Antonio, Texas ("StyleMatchMe," "we," "us"). These Terms are an agreement between you and us. By using the Service in any way, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, SMS Terms, AI Policy and Data Protection Policy, which are part of these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. Who can use StyleMatchMe

You must be at least 18 years old. A parent or guardian may search on behalf of a child. If you use the Service for a business, you confirm you're authorized to act for that business. You agree to give us true, accurate, current and complete information, and we may suspend or end an account if we reasonably believe information is untrue or incomplete.

2. What we do (and don't do)

• StyleMatchMe is a matching service. Clients answer questions about their hair, the service they want, budget, location and schedule, and our AI matching system ranks stylists and barbers by how well they fit. Our AI Policy explains how matching works.
• Match scores are estimates, not guarantees of quality, availability, price or results. Always confirm details directly with the stylist.
• We don't employ, supervise or endorse stylists, and we're not a party to any appointment. Booking, payment for hair services, cancellations and the services themselves are solely between you and the stylist, and we aren't responsible for any loss or damage arising from those dealings.
• Some listings are built from publicly available information (for example, Google business listings) and may be incomplete or out of date. Listings marked Verified contain answers provided by a paying member.
• Stylists are responsible for holding any licenses their work requires (in Texas, from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation).

3. For clients

• Searching and viewing matches is free.
• If you choose to save or send your results by email or text, we'll use your contact information for that and as described in our Privacy Policy. Texts are covered by our SMS Terms.

4. For stylists and barbers (members)

• Membership. Claiming an existing listing or adding a new business requires a membership. Regular prices are $12.99 per month or $140.29 per year, plus any applicable sales tax.
• Launch price for your first year. New members pay a launch price for their first year of membership: $8.99 per month for the first 12 monthly payments, or $97.09 for the first annual payment. After your first year, your membership automatically renews at the regular price ($12.99 per month or $140.29 per year, plus tax) until you cancel. We'll email you a reminder about 20 days before your launch price ends. The launch price applies to a member's first membership only.
• Free trial. New members get a 7-day free trial. A card is required to start it. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your membership starts and you'll be charged automatically. One free trial per member.
• Automatic renewal. Memberships renew automatically each month or year, at the prices described above, until canceled. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard ("Manage billing"). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and your profile stays live until then.
• Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we don't give credits for partial periods.
• Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, our payment processor will retry it and may notify you. If it isn't resolved, your profile goes back to public information only until billing is fixed.
• Price changes. Apart from the end of the launch price described above, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email before any price change takes effect on your membership.
• Ranking. Every member pays the same flat price and is ranked only by fit. We don't sell higher placement, promoted listings or boosts. Your own answers replace our estimates from public information, which can raise or lower how well you match a particular client.
• License verification. If you add a Texas license number, you confirm it's yours. We compare it with TDLR's public records (number, name and expiration) and show a badge only while it matches and is current. A badge isn't an endorsement, and it never affects ranking. You remain responsible for holding any license your work requires.
• Accurate information. You agree that what you tell us about your business (services, prices, hours, specialties, ownership and other details) is accurate, and you'll keep it up to date. You may only claim a business you own or are authorized to represent.
• After cancellation. When a membership ends, the listing goes back to showing public information only. We keep your answers so you can pick up where you left off if you return, unless you ask us to delete them.
• Your account. You sign in with one-time codes sent to your email. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your email account secure, and you agree to tell us right away about any unauthorized use.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

5. Content you give us

You keep ownership of the information, bio, links and other content you provide. You give StyleMatchMe a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, copy, display and use it to operate and promote the Service, for as long as it's on the Service and for a reasonable time afterward to remove it from backups and promotional materials. You confirm that you own the content or have permission to share it, and that it doesn't infringe anyone's rights. For photos, you confirm you took them or have permission to use them, and that anyone shown agreed to appear. We may remove photos that are inappropriate, misleading or reported as infringing.

6. Public listings and removal

If you're a business owner and want a listing built from public information removed or corrected, email support@stylematchme.com with the business name and address. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

7. Things you may not do

• Claim or pay for a business you don't own or represent, impersonate any person or business, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
• Provide false or misleading information, or post anything unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene or infringing.
• Scrape, copy or bulk-download the directory or match results, use bots to run searches, or gather other users' contact information for marketing.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers, try to get around its limits or security, gain unauthorized access to any account or system, or upload viruses or other harmful code.
• Frame the Service or copy its content into another website or service without our written permission. You may link to the Service as long as you don't suggest we sponsor or endorse you.
• Use the Service for anything unlawful or to encourage others to break the law.

We may suspend or end access, remove or edit content or a listing, or cancel a membership that breaks these Terms, at any time. If we end a membership for a reason other than a breach, we'll refund the unused part of the current period.

8. Our property and brand

The Service, its matching system, design, text and other materials belong to StyleMatchMe or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. StyleMatchMe, the StyleMatchMe logo and "We put the AI in Hair®" are our trademarks. Please don't use them without permission.

9. Third-party sites and services

The Service links to stylists' websites, booking pages and other third-party sites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, products, services or privacy practices, and a link doesn't mean we endorse them.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of listings and match results. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of viruses or other harmful components. We aren't responsible for the services, conduct or prices of any stylist or client. Nothing on the Service is legal, financial, medical or other professional advice, and we make no promises to members about future clients, bookings or income.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, StyleMatchMe and its affiliates won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from the Service, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some states don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you; in that case our liability is limited to the fullest extent the law allows.

12. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless StyleMatchMe, its affiliates, and their owners, officers, employees and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, the content or information you provide, the services you offer (if you're a member), or your breach of these Terms.

13. Copyright complaints (DMCA)

If you believe in good faith that material on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice that meets the requirements of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to support@stylematchme.com. If you believe a notice was wrongly filed against you, the DMCA lets you send us a counter-notice.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding arbitration in Bexar County, Texas, except that either side may bring an individual claim in small-claims court or seek an injunction to protect intellectual property. If a court finds any part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.

15. General

You may not assign these Terms without our written consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor. These Terms, together with the policies listed above, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licenses, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and dispute terms) will survive.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we'll post the new version here and, for members, email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
