Privacy Policy
Last updated October 22, 2026
This policy explains what StyleMatchMe ("we," "us"), owned and operated by The Barbery Republic LLC, collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this policy. The short version: we collect what we need to match you with the right stylist, we don't sell your personal information, and we don't use advertising trackers.
1. What we collect
When you search (clients)
- Your questionnaire answers: hair pattern and condition, the service you want, budget, ZIP code, how far you'll travel, schedule, must-haves (like wheelchair access), and optional preferences (like stylist gender or business ownership). You don't need an account to search.
- Contact information, only if you choose to save or send your results: your email address or mobile number.
- Feedback, if you rate your matches: your rating and any note you write, kept with your search so we can see which matches it's about.
When you join or claim a listing (members)
- Your name, email, phone, business name, address and ZIP.
- Your profile answers: services and prices, hours, hair specialties, features of your space, and optional details such as your gender or business ownership.
- Your bio, booking link and up to 9 photos of your work. Photos are resized in your browser before upload, which removes hidden location and camera details, and are shown only while your membership is live.
- Your Texas license number, if you add it. We check it against the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation's (TDLR) public license records every day and show a "Texas license verified" badge, with the license type, on your profile. We never show the number itself.
- Billing details are collected and stored by Stripe, our payment processor. We receive your plan, subscription status and billing address, but never your full card number.
Public business information
To help clients find stylists before they join, we build starting listings from publicly available business information (such as Google business listings, collected through a data provider). This includes business names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, hours, ratings and services.
Automatically
- Basic technical information your browser sends, such as browser type and pages visited, which can't identify you on its own.
- To prevent abuse, we use a one-way scrambled ("hashed") version of your IP address to limit how many searches can trigger new data collection. We don't store your raw IP address with your search.
- Bot protection: the questionnaire uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks signals from your browser (and, for that check only, your IP address) to tell people from automated programs. Cloudflare handles that check under its own privacy policy; we only receive a pass or fail.
- Cookies: members get one sign-in cookie to stay logged in. We don't use advertising, cross-site tracking or third-party analytics cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, but you won't be able to stay signed in.
- Basic counts, such as how many times a listing appears in matches or is viewed, and how many times someone taps a stylist's contact buttons (booking link, phone, website, socials, directions or Google reviews). Members see these counts on their dashboard, along with the service and general area of the search a tap came from. We don't record who tapped, and we never share a client's identity with stylists.
2. How we use it
- To match clients with stylists and show the reasons for each match.
- To send results you ask us to save or send, sign-in codes, and membership and billing emails.
- To run memberships, handle billing and provide support.
- To follow up with people who joined a waitlist or started a membership, including information about StyleMatchMe (through our customer-relationship tool). You can unsubscribe anytime.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, protect our rights and the safety of others, and comply with the law.
- To improve matching, using search patterns in aggregate. Information we've de-identified so it can no longer identify you is treated as non-personal information.
3. Who we share it with
We don't sell, rent or exchange your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run StyleMatchMe, who may use it only to provide those services to us:
- Cloudflare: website hosting and database
- Stripe: payments and billing
- Resend: sending emails
- HighLevel (GoHighLevel): our customer-relationship tool, for people who give us their contact information, and for texts
- Outscraper: collecting public business information for listings
What clients see: a member's public profile (business name, address, contact links, hours, services, prices, specialties, bio and Verified badge). We never show a member's login email or billing details. Stylists don't see who searched; they only see counts and the service and area of searches they matched.
We may also disclose information if required by law, court order or other legal process, to protect our rights or someone's health, safety or welfare, or as part of a sale, merger, dissolution or acquisition of the business (in which case this policy would continue to apply).
4. Texts
If you ask us to text your results, we'll use your number only for that request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. We don't send marketing texts without your separate consent, and we never share or sell mobile numbers or text opt-in consent with third parties for their marketing. See our SMS Terms.
5. How long we keep it
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Saved searches are kept so your results link keeps working. Member answers are kept after a membership ends so members can return, and billing records are kept as required for tax and accounting. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below). Our Data Protection Policy has more detail.
6. Your choices and rights
- Access, correct or delete: email support@stylematchme.com and we'll respond within 45 days. Members can also edit their profile anytime from the dashboard.
- Remove a public listing: business owners can email us to remove or correct a listing built from public information.
- Emails: sign-in and billing emails are part of the Service; any marketing emails will include an unsubscribe link.
- Depending on where you live (including Texas), you may have additional rights under state privacy law, such as the right to appeal a decision about your request. To appeal, reply to our response with "Appeal" in the subject.
7. Children
StyleMatchMe is for adults 18 and older, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian can search for a child's haircut or style; in that case we collect only the hair and service answers, not the child's name or contact information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), store sign-in codes and session tokens only in scrambled (hashed) form, and limit access to people and vendors who need it and must keep it confidential. No system is perfectly secure, and email isn't guaranteed to be secure from interception, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of a breach that affects you as required by law.
9. Links to other sites
Listings link to stylists' websites and booking pages. We aren't responsible for their privacy practices or content.
10. Changes
We'll post any updates here with a new "Last updated" date, and email members about significant changes.
