Data Protection Policy

This policy describes how StyleMatchMe, owned and operated by The Barbery Republic LLC, collects, manages and protects personal data. It supports our Privacy Policy, which explains in plain terms what we collect and why.

1. Our commitments

• Follow applicable data protection and privacy laws, including Texas law.
• Protect the rights of clients, members, partners and everyone whose information we handle.
• Be open about how we process and store personal data.
• Reduce the risk of data breaches.

2. Whose data this covers

Clients who search, stylists and barbers who join or claim a listing, businesses listed from public information, people who join a waitlist, and anyone else who contacts us.

3. Our principles

Personal data must be:

• Processed fairly, lawfully and transparently.
• Collected for specific, legitimate purposes, and not used in ways that don't fit those purposes.
• Limited to what's needed. For example, clients can search without an account, and we don't store raw IP addresses with searches.
• Accurate and kept up to date. Members can update their information anytime.
• Kept no longer than needed.
• Handled with respect for people's rights to access, correct and delete their information.
• Protected with appropriate security.

4. Security measures

• All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS).
• Sign-in uses one-time email codes; codes and session tokens are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, and codes expire after 10 minutes.
• Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach our systems.
• Access to data is limited to people and service providers who need it and must keep it confidential.

5. Retention

• Sign-in codes: expire after 10 minutes. Sessions: end after 30 days or when you sign out.
• Saved searches: kept so your results link keeps working, until you ask us to delete them.
• Member profiles: kept after a membership ends so members can return, until they ask us to delete them.
• Billing records: kept as required for tax and accounting.
• Public listing data: refreshed periodically and removed on a business owner's request.

6. Sharing and transfers

We share personal data only with the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy, only to run StyleMatchMe, and never sell it. Our providers may store data in the United States.

7. Requests

You can ask what data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@stylematchme.com. We'll respond within 45 days.

8. Breaches

If a breach affects your personal data, we'll notify you and the authorities as required by law.

9. Changes

We may update this policy and will give advance notice of significant changes.
